🌞 A Brand-New Summer Adventure at Kidcam Camps at Phoebe Hearst Elementary, Metairie!

Hey families!

We’re excited to welcome campers to one of our newest Kidcam locations, proudly in partnership with Jefferson Parish Public Schools — Kidcam Camps at Phoebe Hearst Elementary in Metairie! This 9-week camp, with Morning Care starting at 7:00 AM, blends the classic Kidcam experience with fresh spaces and exciting opportunities for kids to learn, move, and grow all summer long.

🌈 The Spirit of Summer Comes Alive

Campers celebrate a different theme each week, keeping the fun fresh and imaginations engaged. Activities are built around Kidcam’s curriculum featuring:

• Sports & movement • Creative arts • STEM exploration • Team-building games • Lifeskills development • Onsite field trips • Talent shows • Weekly swimming & water play

🏊 Campers swim once per week at Westgate Country Club, adding a refreshing highlight to the week.

This site features lots of outdoor space, a playground, and an airnasium for covered activity, along with air-conditioned indoor areas for projects and group fun — all supported by 50 years of Kidcam traditions families love.

👩‍🏫 Meet the Camp Director: Hannah Burrell

Leading the fun is Hannah Burrell, a New Orleans native who began her Kidcam journey in 2021 and has grown through multiple leadership roles over the years — now serving as Camp Director. She brings energy, experience, and a passion for helping kids feel confident, included, and excited to come to camp each day. 

When she’s not at camp, Hannah enjoys rock climbing, reading, and singing karaoke with friends. Her goal is to create a welcoming, upbeat camp where every child can shine.

☀️ What a Camp Day Looks Like

🌅 Morning Care (7:00 AM) A relaxed start with games and creative play.

🎶 Rocky Rally Songs, cheers, and camp spirit kick off the day.

🏃‍♂️ Morning Activities Campers rotate through sports, STEM projects, arts, team games, and outdoor fun.

🍽️ Lunch & Snack Time to refuel and recharge.

🎭 Afternoon Highlights Onsite field trips, creative projects, and prep for camp favorites like talent shows and special performances.

🌈 Rocky Wrap-Up & Extended Care We celebrate the day before pickup or Extended Care fun.

With fantastic facilities, weekly swimming, outdoor adventure, and strong leadership, this new location is ready for an unforgettable summer.
