For campers ages 5-13, Kidcam Summer Day Camp thrives in the heart of Alabama’s Oak Mountain State Park.

Kidcam’s Home Base is the air-conditioned Oak Room near Main Park Office and offers a morning drop off at a convenient location at the front of the park off of the 119 entrance at the Ranger Station with shuttles every 30 minutes, and one last stop at the back entrance closer to Hwy 280 around 8:40.  This allows parents a more convenient in-and-out when dropping off their campers each morning.

Kidcam’s weekly activities promote fun, fitness, friendship and creativity. Campers celebrate a different theme each week, while incorporating a curriculum filled with sports, creative arts, STEM, team building games, life skills, hiking, talent shows, swimming and water play, along with 50 years of memorable Kidcam traditions.

Camp Director, Randle Cassady, says, “Kidcam at Oak Mountain is a very unique summer camp. Campers get to utilize the whole park for various activities. During the summer, you can find our campers on the trails exploring, swimming in the lake, visiting the petting farm, paddle boating or at the Wildlife center learning about native birds in Alabama.”

*NOTE: Campers must be 5 years or older before attending a Kidcam Camp.

Accreditation

Kidcam Camps is proud to be Accredited by the American Camp Association. ACA Accreditation means that your child’s camp cares enough to undergo a thorough (up to 300 standards) review of its operation every year — from staff qualifications and training to emergency management. ACA collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to assure that current practices at your child’s camp reflect the most up-to-date, research-based standards in camp operation. Camps and ACA form a partnership that promotes growth and fun in an environment committed to safety. ACA accreditation assures families that camps have made the commitment to a safe, nurturing environment for their children. ACA standards are recognized by courts of law and government regulators as the standards of the camp community.
